A three-stage controlled process

1 - Tomato growing

  • A specially-selected tomato species, naturally rich in SOD.
  • Our own tomato fields in Argentina.
  • Special conditions for growing (sun-exposure, soil, humidity….).
  • Specific timing for harvesting the tomatoes.

2 - Manufacturing of tomato extract (TOMASOD)

At this stage, a control takes place to asses the specifications of the tomato extract (TOMASOD)

3-MANUFACTURING OF EXTRASOD®

The first stage consists in the manufacturing of the matrix of microcapsules with starch, according to a patented process using air blown fluidized bed. Once they have been produced, the matrix particles are sifted and then controlled by microscopic examination, in order to assess their size and homogeneity.

The tomato extract is diluted in demineralized, sterile water, in order to achieve a solution, and the matrix particles are put in contact with the fluid extract, in order to be impregnated. The quantities are established, in such a manner that the whole quantity of extract is absorbed by the matrix particles. Then, a solution of hydroxy propyl cellulose is prepared with sterile water, and sprayed on the matrix particles containing the tomato extract, and then dried in air blown fluidized bed.
