They used an awl (which is used to punch holes in the leather), a burnished (which is heated and used to rub the soles and heels of the shoe to a high shine, and a marking wheel (which is used to mark points on the soles of the shoes often where the needle would go through. There are three more tools that they use. There is the size stick (which is used to measure the person's foot, the sole knife (which is used to shape the shoe), and the stretching pliers (which is used to stretch the leather on the upper part of the shoe).
