Here at Ingoldsby we are so looking forward to having all of our pupils back at school.
Supported by our fantastic staff, I am so proud of how much the children have achieved while learning at home. I’d like to take this opportunity to thank you for your support on this – we know it has been challenging for everyone to juggle home-schooling with other commitments, and your support is very much appreciated. However, no virtual experience can replace face-to-face teaching and it is really good to be returning to the classroom.
We are all working hard to ensure that our curriculum and timetable is supporting our pupils gain the most out of their time back. Timetables will be added to the curriculum pages of our website for your information.
As has been the case throughout the pandemic, the welfare of pupils and staff is our priority and we will do everything we can to make the school environment as safe as possible. We will continue to follow our existing, stringent measures including staggering arrivals creating dedicated key stage areas, boosting hygiene and following social distancing where we can.

Please do not park in the school car park from Monday.
Should my child wear uniform?
Yes, absolutely. Please make sure your child tucks in their polo shirt and ties up their hair.
Happy to help
I would like to invite parents with uniform that no longer fits, to donate so we can reissue to children and families who for whatever reason can not access the school uniform. This can be put in a plastic bag by the gate.
Please ensure that earrings are taken out on PE days or provide a pot or envelope for your child to take out their own earrings.
If you have a school Chromebook or laptop at home please can you return these on Monday please. Our IT department plans to check all devices to ensure that they are running as they should and can be used at their most effective.
When is PE?

KS2- Wednesday and Friday
Children should wear their PE kits to school on PE days. This should be school kit which consists of red/black/grey jogging bottoms or red shorts, a red top with red jumper or fleece.

World Book Day
We are delaying World Book Day activities until Friday 12th March. We'd like to encourage children to bring their favourite book to school. We plan to collect some recordings of these books on a Padlet. I'd like to invite you to record a reading of your favourite children's book. If you are tech savvy, you could have a go at the Masked Reader Challenge.
Covid-19 testing for families and members of the family's childcare or support bubble
Staff in school have been strongly encouraged to join the regular testing programme using lateral flow tests. This is a very straight forward procedure that we complete twice a week. This helps to pick up asymptomatic virus carriers and gives an added protection for you and your families.
As primary children have not been added to the testing programme like secondary aged pupils, you as adults can join the testing programme.
How to get a rapid lateral flow test
There are different ways to get a test for school staff, pupils, and members of their households, childcare and support bubbles in England who do not have symptoms of coronavirus. This is not being run by schools.
From 1 March 2021, if you’re a member of a household, childcare bubble or support bubble of staff or a pupil you can get a twice-weekly test:
- at a local test site
- by collecting a home test kit from a test site
- by ordering a home test kit online
- Get a test through your employer
Your nearest collection point is Queen Elizabeth Park Car Park, Grantham.
If you have symptoms of COVID-19, arrange to have a PCR test if you have not already had one. Stay at home while you are waiting for a home self-sampling kit, a test site appointment or a test result. Do not use the rapid lateral flow testing service as this is only for people without symptoms.
What if my child is ill?
Please do not send children to school with a temperature, cough or loss of taste or sense of smell or even if they are feeling generally unwell. If your child has symptoms of COVID-19 the whole family must isolate at home until either a negative test result is returned or from the first day of symptoms/ date of the test + 10 extra days. Order a test for people with symptoms online or call 119.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your patience and support over this past term – it has been a real community effort.
