Family Circles - November Lesson
The purpose of this week's Family Circle lesson was to improve the relationships with the important people who spend the lunch hour with our children. By getting to know our noon-aides and cooks, students see these staff members as caring, trusted adults. The kids then become more respectful in their words and actions during this time of day. During the Family Circle lesson, the kids watched short videos of each of the cafeteria helpers introducing themselves. Then, we played a fun trivia game in which groups of children answered questions based on the videos. We finished up our lesson with a reminder of "You know it, now show it!" Kids thought through how they would handle different scenarios in the cafeteria.
Ask your children questions like these to spark a conversation about the Family Circle Lesson!
- Tell me a little about what you learned in Family Circles this morning.
- What is something you learned about our cafeteria helpers that you didn't know before?
- Which noon-aides most often work with your grades?
- Which noon-aide do you have the most in common with?
- Which of the cafeteria expectations do you already do well?
- Which of the cafeteria expectations will you work hard to practice?
Operation Season's Greetings!
Our Leonard Leopards are writing letters to military service men and women to spread holiday cheer. Many people may not realize that our US Armed Forces always have soldiers on duty across the globe to serve us. These active duty military miss a great deal of time with family and friends. We have adopted an installation that is currently serving in Stuttgart, Germany and are sending our holiday wishes their way! Thank you to all the families who wrote letters!
Leonard Artists Featured at Troy School District Central Office
