It's been a bit longer than I'd hoped to bring you the next instalment of my 'Clubs' project, and its a bit of a leftfield one too. A couple of times a year a group of likeminded people get together to perform an iconic album, there may not be a membership fee but The Long Players are a 'Club' and a great example of what I want to explore in this project......"People doing things better, because they do them together."
This years first album was the Arctic Monkeys AM, rehearsed one weekend then performed twice the next. A matinee for Malmesbury's young music fans (and their parents!) and the main event the same evening, something that is quickly becoming a Malmesbury Music tradition.
Musicians, lighting and sound engineers, props and set dressing, tickets, door and bar staff......its big group of people that come together to make this happen.
I've had quite a few clubs let me know that they like to be involved in this project, but I'd love to hear from more, it's always easier to show what I've got planned once you can see some images!
