In April, the most scared week in the Catholic Church occurs. The week in which we celebrate Jesus’ life, death, and resurrection. All around the world, Catholics have different traditions and ways to celebrate this week.

In Guatemala, they make beautiful carpets out of sawdust. The designs vary from artist to artist, but that doesn’t take away from the fact that they are all creative and colorful.

Poland has Smigus-dyngus . A tradition that consist of throwing water at each other with buckets, waterguns, and water balloons.

Spain takes “Semana Santa” very seriously. They hold various processions across the country.

Germany has the tradition of hosting large bonfires. Communities gather together and celebrate these Easter bonfires. They are also used as a time to say goodbye to the winter.
