The four postulates were presented by Darwin On the Origin of Species by Means of Natural Selection. A postulate is defined as "suggest or assume the existence, fact, or truth of (something) as a basis for reasoning, discussion, or belief." From Darwin's four postulates, it can be gathered that a population will change with each generation, eventually making the population different. Each of Darwin's truths can be seen when analyzing any population through the years. Those with favorable attributes are more likely to not be eaten by a predator or are more likely to be able to get food. Bellow I will include the four postulates.
Individuals within a species are variable
Some of these variations are passed along to offsprings
More offsprings are produced than what can survive
Offsprings exhibiting more favorable variation have an advantage to survive and reproduce
