We Love Cars
And trucks. And SUVs. We love making pictures of everything from toys to tractors, but what we really love is automotive work! It's one of our greatest passions. We eat, sleep and breathe it. When it comes to automotive rendering, we can't get enough and never stop maximizing our efforts to make sure every piece that leaves our studio contains the highest quality, usability and convenience for our customers. Even though our main shop is in Atlanta, many of our artists were born and raised in Motown and the love of cars is in their blood. I'm the Midwest Rep, was born in the 313 and still live in Metro Detroit. So now that I've documented our love of cars, let's take a look at the images we make.

The still images are sweet, but can you take them for a spin?
You bet. We're big proponents of squeezing every bit of content out of the work we do. That means if we've prepped a vehicle for a still campaign, a colorizer or a configurator, we're going to make sure we don't have to redo all of that work if our client later decides they want to use it for an animation.
The link below will take you to a sample configurator featuring a Porsche as the vehicle. This uses static hosted images pieced together on the client-side. This approach demonstrates our usage of layered PNG’s to paint the configuration. This same logic could also be pushed to a restful back-end API to stitch the layers together to serve a single JPG.

We understand this process so well that we felt the need to control as much of it as we could. We shoot our own content, so when it comes to rendering we know the quality is going to be on point, because we've created everything to get us to the finish line. Constant R&D to Help Save our Customers Time and Money. Below are just a few examples, but we are testing everyday on behalf of all of our clients
Here is a vehicle 360 done using only an HDRI dome. We have been working on a way to shoot our domes to make this possible and after months of trial and error, we nailed it. The great time savings inherent in this process allows clients to do things with their vehicle previously impossible in a conventional shot-by-shot 360. We can also use create colorizers and configurators this way.
Here is another example of re-purposing animation and live action shoots. Let’s face it, big live action shoots are expensive and time consuming. Between location, weather, locating the model, prep, crew, the hours and numbers start to climb. Why pay for them over and over? What if you could continue to use that initial video for multiple trims, colors and options? How about model changes? For a fraction of the time and cost, we provided a fresh new look to existing animation without ever leaving the studio.

We're proud of the fact we're a smaller than average shop. We are definitely lean and mean but we always deliver what we promise. Our staff is approximately 30 strong and flexes when necessary. Our home office is in Atlanta, Georgia's Midtown with an additional office in Providence, Rhode Island. We are currently looking to put an office in Metro Detroit.
More Than Cars
We have a broad-based portfolio. And if you're wondering if we can handle large project, ask Hasbro. We single-handedly changed the way they work. Instead of shooting tiny, grey prototypes nobody could ever get their hands on, Indigo rendered all the products for Nerf, SuperSoaker, Marvel, Star Wars and many others in CGI. Head into a Target or Walmart and visit the toy aisle. You'll see our work everywhere .
Ask Caterpillar. For over seven years, CAT's trusted us with their entire company's product line. We did a pro bono test on a D7E in 2010 and showed them what could be done with their own engineering files. Today the process is known company-wide as the "MRG" (Marketing Ready Geometry) Process and is done on every NPI product they now make. To date we have rendered approx 300 machines and countless engines and parts, both static and animated. Indigo not only built a solid process but we made it scalable. We actually have an entire website dedicated to the work we've done with Caterpillar. Please take some time to explore because you have to see it to believe it.

A word about the AG industry. While our competitors were fighting over the next render for BMW or Cadillac, we were changing the way agriculture companies did their marketing. This again started with a conversation. We had our initial meeting and concluded that meeting with a statement. "We have told you all these things you can do and what we can do with your CAD files. We've said we can do this-and-that but we can also back it up. Let us do a test with some of your CAD and come back next week. Let us show you." We did just that and turned a room full of grumbling farm executives into true believers. Heck, we even put them in the brochure!

We do it by understanding what our client is hoping to achieve, asking the right questions and through active listening. As a result we are able to tap into the voice of your customer. We are also very candid in offering cost effective solutions our clients may not have initially considered. We solve problems. We’re all borne from a creative background, so providing a quality outcome is a passion, one we take very seriously. Our goal is to produce high level imagery and form long, mutually satisfying partnerships with our clients, the people who trust us with helping to market their most cherished products.
Tech Speak
We have always believed that you don’t have to be a big place to do high quality work or high volume for that matter. Despite that, we have grown over the years, both in size and breadth of services offered. Without satisfied, returning clients, you won’t last long in our business. Our process and pipeline is tailored to our clients' needs and conversely, we're not going to create something that won't serve our clients' best interests moving forward.
Below are three documents you can download to review. We adjust our solutions to meet our clients' needs. There is no blanket, one-size-fits all solution. We pride ourselves on listening and coming to the table with exactly what our clients request.
As far as firepower, we have our own dedicated render farm of 150+ computers that are rendering 24hrs a day. We have terabytes of network storage and everything we do is backed up offsite to a secret location, every night. We can't use anything the public has access to and our files never leave our secured servers. As far as security, we have been fully certified by Caterpillar's security team. That includes our physical building and our IT policies and procedures. As a quick fun fact, when they came to do the physical inspection, the officer that led the team conducting it was a retired FBI agent who had arrested and interrogated a notorious criminal (he wouldn't tell us who).
