Dear parents and carers,
What a fantastic week in school! Pupils have been learning about everything from why Amazon uses such a large amount of packaging to how to trap a dragon! On Wednesday, we had a visit from our school support officer. She spent time walking between classes and observing teachers throughout the morning. She was very impressed by the excellent pupil behaviour; the quality of discussion that pupils engaged in; as well as the high stands that pupils at Johnston are achieving! Da iawn Pawb!
Llangrannog
On Tuesday, we received information from the URDD Centre in Llangrannog that our year five trip has been cancelled. We have made contact with several other providers, such as the centre in Pendine, but unfortunately they are all fully booked for the summer term. Therefore, we are hoping to plan a series of fun actives around Pembrokeshire. As soon as we have more information about this, we will share our plans with parents.
Parking Reminder
We have had one or two problems in the car park this week. Please could we remind parents and carers that the disabled parking bays are only to be used by blue badge holders. Thank you for your support with this issue.
605 Trees and Counting!
Pupils have been working hard to plant a staggering 605 trees as part of our work to create a hedge along the edge of Maes Meithrin! Pupils have used biodegradable sacks and pegs to limit the grass growth and support the trees to become established. In years to come, the hedge will become a valuable habitat as well as creating a wind break.
Drama Workshops!
On Thursday, we welcomed a specialist drama teacher to the school. All classes enjoyed participating in a thirty minute activity in the hall. Da iawn pawb!

Mrs. L. Jones an Miss. S. Codd.
Achievements Outside School
It was a busy weekend for pupils in year five last week! Dylan travelled all the way to Newport to complete in his first water hockey match! After a full day of competition, his team achieved a second place. Excellent work Dylan!
Both Bella and Bethany were competing in a full day of dance competition in Swansea. Bella won the Street Dance Solo and Bethany won Street double!
Well done all, we are very proud of you!
Competition Time!
Friday Afternoon - Booking Form
- No need to re-book if you have already booked in for the half term.
Attendance
The pandemic has had a significant impact on pupil attendance, but we feel that it is time for us to begin encouraging attendance as much as possible.
A massive "Well Done" to Class Two who were the highest attending this week . Da iawn pawb! I will be discussing a small treat with Mrs. Hay on Monday morning.
Remember, if any class achieves 100% attendance for an entire week, they win an extra special treat!
