Surrealism is an art form where things don't look right or are out of proportion. Surrealism is used to make statements or to make you question things. 1. www.nydailynews.com This image contains a man and a boy. I think this represents that everyone has a bit of their childhood still inside them even when people say they are "grown up" there will always be a little bit of childhood inside them. This image makes us feel horrified and creeped out at the sight of this as it is unnatural. 2. www.pintrest.com This image contains a man looking down at his shoes with a lot of clocks in the background. I think this represents time and how time can change anything at any time. This makes us feel uncomfortable as we know how important time can be. 3 urblog.org This image shows a young boy who looks distressed as he is getting no likes, comments or follows on his "latest post". I think this represents how modern kids and teens rely so much on social media that when no one likes their posts they get upset and feel hollow. This makes me feel disturbed and horrified at the same time as it is a big realisation.
This image is a surrealism task, we had to draw a head, fold it over and give it to the next person, the person then draws the body and the next draws the feet. This image is a guy wearing headphones with a blue body with yellow spots while the feet look like octopus tentacles. The reason we did this task is because we needed practice in seeing things that are not real.
These are my Photoshop creatures. The first one is a collaboration of sport equipment in the shape of a person. The second one is Steve Job's head on a body of apple products such as Apple TV remote MacBook Airs and an Apple Watch as a belt. My third and final one is a Coca Cola can with a mermaid tail and a small head on the end of the straw. The Coke can is in amongst a Pepsi vending machine. I enjoyed using Photoshop as I can use it at home to mess around with. I found that using the trim tool was a bit hard to control as it was really sensitive. My favourite tool was the moving tool as I could move things around the way I like it.
This image is of one of my Photoshop creatures, I have put him in rainbows as Steve Jobs was know to be a bit of a hippy and I think it looks nice around him.
