Newsletter 9th July 2021

The penultimate week of this academic year is over and we look forward to moving into our new classes next week. It has been another busy week, as you will see below. Year 6 had an amazing residential in the Lake District, the rest of school cheered on England and have been superstars in all of their work.

Next week Reception children, moving into KS1 for transition, will go through the gates onto the playground, rather than through the main entrance. Staff will be there to guide children to the doors they will go through and to welcome them into school that way. If anyone is anxious, please do come through the main entrance still, the main aim of the transition week is to make the children feel as comfortable as possible with 'moving up' to their new class.

Also, if your child is in Reception, please do check Teams. There are instructions/details on how to download your child's Tapestry Journal, quite a few of you have already.

End of Year reports will be going home on Wednesday - they have been a real pleasure to read, all the children have done extremely well this year once again. Every single child is a real credit to yourselves and the school community.

HOUSEPOINTS

School life

Some amazing work and celebrations in school this week!

star of the week

What a week for Stars of the Week! It seems that the Teacher's had such a difficult time deciding this week, as all of the children have worked so hard all year for them, that all of the children in school were awarded Star of the Week this week.

Well done to all the children! Amazing to see how you have all developed over the year with some amazing work, creativity and determination.

Parent Survey

As we start to prepare for next year in school, your voice is really important to help us shape what we offer. The past 18 months or so have been unlike any other, but we would like to hear your views as we continue to ensure that we offer the best possible education and experiences for all of the children at Galley Hill.

The form can be found here or by using the QR code below:

MOnday 12th june

On Sunday, England play in their first final for 55 years (and I think we have talked about that one for long enough!).

To celebrate this amazing achievement, the children can come into school on Monday in clothing to support the England Team - whatever the outcome. It can be England tops, white tops, anything red and white at all, to cheer the team for their (hopeful!) success.

We look forward to seeing the children when they arrive in on Monday, don't worry if you are a little late.

Why not give this a go to cheer the Team on Sunday Night

Year 6 Residential

Year 6 have had a great week away in the Lake District. They took part in lots of exciting activities and ended the week off with some wild camping on Hardknott Pass. They were all amazing!

Friday Funday

On Friday, we have a few things organised to try and give the children a great send of for the summer and to celebrate all of the amazing things they have achieved this year. On Friday, children can come into school in their own clothes.
