Rock Valley wins back to back national titles

Cheektowaga, NY - Rock Valley (IL) took home the 2023 NJCAA Men's Bowling Championship at Airport Lanes. This title was their third in school history, and third in the last four years. The Golden Eagles ended the tournament with a final team score of 14,832 points. Connor Mooney led the Golden Eagles to a national title with a Men's Singles championship high series of 715 (279, 211, 225).

Golden Eagles claim back to back national titles

Rock Valley stayed in first place from the very beginning of the national tournament with a day one score of 6,578 and a day two score of 9,802.

Connor Mooney finished as first runner-up in the Men's All Event championship with a total score of 2,740. Mooney also finished first place in Men's Doubles standings along with partner Tyler Keller and a total score of 1,361.

Erie Community College lands second place in National Tournament

Erie Community College came in at a close second with a score of 14,562 points. Erie landed its highest placement since they won the national tournament in the 2010-11 season. Bobby Richmond helped lead Erie to it's second place finish with a singles score of 661 (200, 269, 192).

Tournament Awards

In the Men's Singles championship, Rock Valley's Connor Mooney brought home first place with a total of 715 points. Jacob Kraft of Iowa Central brought home second place with 709 points while Tommy Reboletti of Rock Valley brought home third place with 690 points.

In the Men's Doubles championship, Tyler Keller and Connor Mooney scored a total of 1,361 points to take first place. Coming in second was Drew Hall and Zane Cairo of Iowa Western with 1,338 points, and coming in third was Mason Sterkel and Cameron Brundage of Iowa Western with 1,330 points.

In the Men's All Events championship, Bobby Richmond of Erie claimed the top spot with 2,806 points. Rock Valley's Connor Mooney came in close behind with 2,740 points and Iowa Central's Jacob Kraft in third with 2,644 points.

All-America Team

The top-8 finishers of the All-Events standings are named to the NJCAA All-America team. The All-America team features student-athletes Rock Valley (2), Iowa Central (1), Iowa Western (2), Barton, Mid Michigan, and Jackson.
