I visited Lodge Grass, Montana with my church youth group in July 2011. We went on a Mission trip to help the people of the Crow Indian Reservation rebuild their homes and schools.
I met a lot of inspiring children that were attending the summer school program that I volunteered with. These children live in an area with extreme poverty. The state funds summer programs for the children because their education is so important.
I was also able to sleep in tee-pees while I was in Montana! The warm summer days and cool summer nights were perfect for sleeping in tee-pees!
We did a lot of sight seeing while on the Misson trip as well. We went to the Battle of Little Bighorn and saw the National Monument. It was eye opening to see where they faught and all of the graves.
This trip was amazing and I will one day travel back to Lodge Grass. I learned so much from this experience and was able to meet people that touched my heart.
