The Baker Blast February 18, 2023

Are you a sneaker head? Our Baker students are sneaker moguls in the making!

Above: In 2022, the total global sneaker market revenue was valued at approximately 72.7 billion U.S. dollars and was forecast to reach a value of over 100 billion dollars by 2026. This week, Mr. Fahnestock and his 6th grade Global Studies students wrapped up their unit on globalization with a Global Sneaker Expo.

Students designed and created their own tennis shoes. They made a plan for the design, materials, manufacturing, distribution and advertising of their shoe as well. It is great to see our students participate in the design cycle and demonstrate their learning about globalization in real-world application and authentic ways!

Happy Mid-Winter Break!

As we come to the end of a long stretch of the school year, I hope that our Baker students and staff are welcoming a well-deserved restful and enjoyable mid-winter break. This mid-winter break offers a great opportunity to relax and recharge, to connect and strengthen ties with family and friends, and explore new interests.

We hope that everyone will have a chance to have fun and stay safe during their time off, while also making time to reflect on their successes so far this year. Let us all remember to be kind to ourselves and each other as we take this break and look forward to closing out a 3rd marking period full of promise and possibilities. Wishing everyone in our Baker community a happy and healthy mid-winter break!

School Bus Driver Appreciation Day Wednesday, February 22nd

School Bus Driver Appreciation Day is celebrated the 22nd of February every year. This holiday is all about appreciating school bus drivers for being good Samaritans to children who go to school everyday. During this day, various activities are held to show appreciation to school drivers.

Some people give gifts and warm letters to the school bus drivers that they know. Please make a difference on School Bus Drivers Day. If you're a parent, take a minute to personally thank the bus drivers as they pick up your kids.

Support Our PTO

The Baker PTO has the opportunity to raise a significant amount of funds every year through purchases regularly made at Kroger! Many of you already shop at Kroger. They are willing to donate a portion of the proceeds back to Baker.

These funds go directly into the classroom, impacting all Baker students. If you have not registered yet with Kroger, simply click on the link below to find out how. Please consider asking your family and friends to sign up for this FREE benefit for our Bobcats. Thank you for support of the Baker PTO.
