Outdoor Day

Our next whole school Outdoor day will be on Thursday 30th March. Children will need to come dressed in warm outdoor clothing for this day. They will also need Wellie Boots or suitable outdoor shoes and raincoats

We are in need of empty egg boxes, wild flower seeds, any other seeds, plus fire wood and dry sticks to help with our activities on the day.

If you are able to help us with any of the above they can be dropped off with Mrs Rees in Rabbits Class before the day.

Weekly Achievement Awards

Achievement certificates

Achievement certificates are awarded to one child per class every week in our celebration assembly.

Congratulation in week 5 to: Matilda, Joy, Freddie, Ella, Maizie, Oliver, Squirrels Class, George, Flynn & Immy

Hot Chocolate Friday

Teachers chose one child from each class who has gone over and above during week in helping others. The selected children then have a hot chocolate with Mr Rafferty & Mr Williams.

Up & Under Fridays after school / Summer Sports Club

Key Stage 2

The Summer Sports club will give children the opportunity to experience a variety of different activities and skills needed to play games such as Tennis, Athletics, Cricket and Rounders.

Chippenham Library Books Reminder

If your child borrowed a book from the town library during their visits for "World Book Day", please don't forget to return or renew them.

The town library's opening hours are:

Monday 10am to 7pm

Tuesday 9am to 5pm

Wednesday 9am to 1pm

Thursday 9am to 7pm

Friday 9am to 7pm

Saturday 9am to 5pm

Sunday Closed

School Library

We have a large number of books that have been borrowed from the school library and have never been returned! If you find any books at home with the Monkton Mole stamp inside, we would be very grateful if they can be returned to the school Office. Thank you

Governor Vacancies

We are delighted to announce that Charlotte Sykes and Laura Lock have been appointed as our 2 new Parent Governors. We thank them in advance for their time.

Nits

There have been a number of cases of nits in the school. Please can we remind parents to check their children's hair regularly and treat if necessary. Thank you

MDSA Vacancies

We are looking for people to join our MDSA/ play leader team at lunch times between 11.40am and 1.00pm Monday to Friday (we would consider job share/part of the week). This would be term time only £10.50 per hour If you would like to apply for a position or would just like to know a bit more about the role then please do email.

Breakfast Club

Now the mornings are lighter we are hoping to be able to take the children outside. In order to do this breakfast will only be served until 8.10am, if you would like your child to have breakfast please arrive before then.

Please book breakfast club via ParentPay by 9.30pm the day before, payment must be made within 2 hours otherwise the system will cancel the booking. If you want to pay by Childcare Vouchers or your Tax Free Childcare account please book via the school office. All places must be booked in advance.

Last day of term 4

Please don't forget that our last day of term will be Thursday 30th March. Friday 31st March is a teacher training day and the children will not be in school.

Mill on the Brue

Year 6 will be visiting Mill on the Brue in July. Payments can be made in installments using Parentpay.

Next week your child will be bringing home their Art Work for The Kings Coronation Mugs and Tea Towels. If you would like to place an order, please complete the details on the back of the art work and return to school on Monday 17th April. Payments can be made on ParentPay

Up & Under Sports - Multi Sports Course / EASTER 2023

The course will run at Hardenhuish School, Chippenham during the upcoming Easter holidays!

Tuesday 4th, Wednesday 5th, Wednesday 11th & Thursday 12th April 2023 (4 days)

The activity programme is open to boys and girls of all abilities aged 5 – 13 years old and will give them the opportunity to learn new sports, improve skills, make new friends and HAVE FUN!

A fantastic variety of sports and activities each day. Sports will include: Trampolining, Archery, Indoor Curling, Laser Tag, Football, Mini Olympics, Tennis, Handball, Hockey, Cricket, Ultimate Frisbee, Dodgeball, Lacrosse, Basketball, Tag Rugby, Team Building Challenges

There will be daily competitions, prizes and certificates and our activity days are structured around teamwork and working together and are delivered in a fun and engaging atmosphere.

Sessions will start at 9am and run through until 4pm.
