It has been a quiet week in school without Year 1 and 2, but it has been fantastic to see all the amazing things that they have been doing at home. Those in school have also been amazing. It has been the first full half term in a while and all the children have been fantastic.
Whilst the restrictions have been lifted further this week, I would like to thank you all again for your continued support in the measures we have in school. Covid is still around, and whilst it is great that we can enjoy seeing more family members, giving them hugs that many of us have waited quite a while for, and sit inside for a meal (which has definitely been needed if you have been out at all in the past few days), we continue to try and keep the children, yourselves and staff as safe as we can do, mitigating risks wherever possible. Thank you for your continued support, it really is greatly appreciated.

School life
Reception have really enjoyed finding out where different fruit and vegetables come from. The children have been learning a rap to help them remember doubles. We would be very grateful if everyone could return reading records and reading books on Monday. Thank you.
It was great to see everyone in Celebration assembly as well. Well done to everyone this week!
Mathematician/writer/Star of the week
Well done to all of Key Stage 1 - We will get your pictures on Monday for Next weeks newsletter. Well done to the Star of the Week, Mathematician of the Week and Writer of the Week from Year 1, Year 1/2 and Year 2 :)
OPAL
This week has seen some more great character development with the outdoor areas. Children continue to challenge themselves, persevere in building and learning the importance of supporting each other.
Dens have started to appear around school - they have certainly been waterproof and weather tested this week!
There is plenty more to come as well!
AFTER School clubs
We are pleased to say that we will be running more after school clubs next half term. We are currently finalising which days etc to ensure that we can offer as much as possible, to as many as possible. As you can appreciate, groups will still be in bubbles which may restrict the offer a little, but we will try to offer as much as we can.
Forms will be going out on Monday - But there will be Choir for Y5/6, Art clubs for varying year groups, Drama clubs and more!

Finally
We look forward to welcoming Key Stage 1 children back on Monday - you have been missed in school! It has certainly been a lot quieter without you in!
Don't forget that it is a training day for staff on Friday, which means that school will end for this half term on Thursday 27th May , with children returning on Monday 7th June.
Have a fantastic weekend. Take care and stay safe,
Mr Anthony McGeeney
