Q&A WITH LAUREN

Q: If You Could Know the Absolute and Total Truth to One Question, What Question Would You Ask?

How big is the universe?

Q: Pick one song that would describe you and one that would describe your team.

One song that my team described me as is Beige, by Yoke Lore. One song that describes my team is the Family Feud theme song.

Q: What do you think is the most important issue for student-athletes today?

I think the most important issue for student-athletes today, more than ever, is prioritizing mental health. Anxiety, depression, disordered eating are just a few examples of some real life consequences of the stress we face and acknowledging how to handle these situations is key for the overall success of student-athletes.

Q: What are the top three things on your bucket list?

Become a travel nurse, run a marathon, and ride in a hot air balloon.

Q: What is one thing you would go back and do differently if you could?

One thing that I would do if I could go back to freshman year would be to make more of an effort to get to know other teams. Senior year I became a lot closer with some of the other teams on campus and definitely wish I had more time to get to know them!

Q: What accomplishment are you most proud of?

The accomplishment that I am most proud of is easily winning the A10 Championship for the first time in SJU history with the best group. It is an honor to have been a part of the team that was able to accomplish this after having dreamt of it my entire career.

Q: What’s the best piece of advice you have ever received?

The best piece of advice I have ever received is to control the controllables. In a game, it is often challenging to let go of a mistake or turnover, however, the controllables lie in the future.
