1908: State Bank of Delano with white enamel brick front. The main banking room had a tile floor, an Italian marble wainscoting, with verde-antique base and rail. The fixtures were the best quarter sawed oak, with oxidized copper grillwork and every convenience for the conduct of business. The vault door was a massive Victor and gave a finish to the counting room, which was most striking. With its steel ceiling and walls was insured cleanliness, to say nothing of the pleasing effect. But decoration alone were not sought, the bank being supplied with a Victor safe which made losses by burglary impossible. Hot water was used for heating and electricity or lighting. The interior equipment was undoubtedly the most artistic and best in point of quality of any bank of its size in the state. In addition to general banking business this house wrote insurance in many of the vest companies and handled real estate. (as described The Great Northwest Magazine, December 1909).
