Filipino 15-25-35
(3Y Program)
This program is intended for students who are beginning their study of Filipino language and culture in Grade 10. Students transition from beginning grammatical concepts to advanced skills while studying various thematic concepts including the home, health, pop culture and travel, just to name a few.
Filipino Language and Culture 35 can be used for admission into post-secondary programs at the University of Alberta and MacEwan University.
French 20 IB & 30 IB (Language B)
The courses in this Language B program give students the possibility of reaching a high degree of competence in an additional language while exploring the culture(s) where that language is spoken. The courses aim to develop the students’ linguistic competence and intercultural understanding
Spanish 10-20-30
(3Y Program)
This program is intended for students who are beginning their study of Spanish language and culture in Grade 10. Students transition from beginning grammatical concepts to advanced skills while studying various thematic concepts including school life, family, daily activities, workplace and cultural festivities.
Spanish Language and Culture 30 can be used for admission into most post-secondary programs.
Spanish 20 IB & 30 IB
(AB INITIO)
In this AB INITIO IB programme, IB students learn the same concepts as their peers and the programme is complemented with more listening, speaking, reading, and writing activities and tasks that mimic the IB assessments. Additionally, the students are informed of the prescribed topics of the IB (identities, experiences, human ingenuity, social organization, and sharing the planet) so that they are better able to adjust their tone and register for assignments.
