During the Fall of 2017 each of NC State's six program's reached postseason for the first time in program history. The rise continued the significant and measurable progress by NC State, as the Wolfpack finished the Fall ranked No. 7 in the Learfield Directors' Cup Standings, the lone ACC school in the Top 10. The Fall set the tone for continued success among NC State's Winter and Spring sports, as the Wolfpack now sits No. 4 in the most recent Directors' Cup standings, its highest position ever.

The NC State Football team finished the 2017 season with a 9-4 mark, including a decisive 52-31 victory over Arizona State in the Sun Bowl. The Wolfpack finished the season with a 6-2 mark in ACC play, its highest league win total since 1994, while filling Carter-Finley Stadium to 98.7 percent. NC State finished No. 23 in the final polls, the first time finishing the year ranked since 2010.
The NC State women's soccer team reached its second consecutive NCAA Tournament, winning 15 games and finishing with the highest RPI in program history.
The NC State Volleyball team continued its meteoric rise, finishing with a 15-5 mark in ACC play, earning just the third NCAA bid in program history, and winning the school's first ever NCAA Tournament match in a thrilling five-setter over Oregon State.
The Pack continues to thrive in cross country, as the women's team once again won the ACC crown, while finishing in the Top 10 nationally for the third consecutive year. The women's squad finished eighth at the NCAA Championships, while the men's program finished 17th.
Men's soccer experienced a resurgence under first-year leader George Kiefer, posting a pair of victories over Top 5 squads (Clemson, Louisville) to pave the way for the program's first NCAA appearance since 2009.
NC State student-athletes continue to raise the bar in the classroom, posting a program-best 85 percent Graduation Success Rate (GSR) in the most recent data available.
Men's swimming and diving won its fourth consecutive ACC title, while finishing fourth in the nation for the third consecutive year. The men's squad won an astounding five national titles at the NCAA meet, while the women's team once again finished in the Top 20 nationally, placing 18th.
The men's wrestling matched the highest NCAA finish in ACC history, placing fourth in the nation at the national meet. The Pack boasted its third individual national champion in the last five seasons, while spending nearly the entire season among the Top 10 in the nation.
The Rifle program finished the season ranked No. 11 nationally, and broke the school record for aggregate score in a recent victory over No. 15 Navy.
The gymnastics program under first-year head coach Kim Landrus won the EAGL Conference Championship and has been ranked as high as No. 20 this year. The Pack will host the NCAA Regional at Reynolds Coliseum on April 7.
Baseball has begun the season in remarkable form, leading the Atlantic Division while appearing as high as No. 4 in the national rankings.
Both basketball teams reached the NCAA Tournament and the women's squad used the magic of Reynolds Coliseum over the first two rounds to advance to the Sweet Sixteen for the first time since 2007. The men's program made enormous strides in the first year under Kevin Keatts, finishing tied for third in the ACC with 11 victories (after posting four in 2016-17), with Top 20 RPI victories over Duke, UNC-CH, Arizona and Clemson.
