Macro Water

I was inspired for these photos because I was going though a phase where I was really getting into Macro Photography. What inspired me was my salt water fish tank in my house. The thought of the potential photos that I could take the only problem was I just need to figure out how to do it. After trial and error and various retakes I got more than I was expecting; I got some amazing shots. These have proven to be some of my favorite shots as well as the most interesting to take .

Black & White

Black and White photography posed a unique challenge for me because I had never taken anything like it. I felt bound to old rustic objects, but I was gladly proven wrong. I found that photos should only be turned into Black and White if it would help to improve the overall appeal of the image. This forced me into the mindset to imagine everything as if it were Black and White. Only after that I really felt more comfortable taking Black and White photos and I started to get the hang of what to and not to turn black and white.

Sports

Sports photography is probably one of the most irritating types of photography for me; but then with that, it is also one of the most rewarding. The difficulty is trying to predict what is going to happen and just waiting for that moment until it happens. The irritating part is where you are ready for that moment but some thing goes wrong like you are out of focus and were so close to what could have been the shot you wanted. Once you get that, it is one of the best feelings in the world because you worked and failed many times to get that picture and all the work makes it that much better.

Landscape

Landscape photography is one on my favorite types of photography because it is like a game. You have to find the best place to take the photo and the right time and usually there is limited time so it is a race to get the shot. This makes it difficult in its own way because you usually only get one shot at it. It is a very time consuming but very rewarding task. The bonus with the whole thing is that you get to go around and search for spots and it is very exciting when everything comes together.

BIOGRAPHY

I am 17 years old I live in Huntington Beach, California, and am proudly a part of Huntington Beach High School Photography. I have moved around a lot since I was born and even lived in different countries. One thing that stuck with me in my younger years was photography. I was one of those 10 year old who thought they knew what they were doing because they borrowed a DSLR camera from their parents, put it on auto and was always told that they were a great photographer. Then I decided to take photography in High School and oh boy, I found out that I had no idea what I was doing. My photography class taught me everything that I know, gave me every opportunity I could ask for, and access to the best photography equipment available. It really showed me what to do and then gave me the opportunity to go do it. After taking the class my Freshmen year I did not take it my Sophomore year because I could not fit it into my schedule and really forgot about photography overall. Then in my Junior year my photography teacher reeled me back in and got me back into it, and it posed some difficulties with my schedule, but I would not trade it for the world because it got me back into what I love. For me photography is a skill that helps to express emotion through pictures and is one of the most satisfying things a person can do.
