Let me Introduce myself
I'm Emily. A 30 something year old who still doesn't quite feel like a grown up. If I had to describe myself in 3 words it would be passionate, persistent, and playful. Creation, Imagination, and Empowerment are my motivation! If I wasn't doing photography I would be doing something with Music or Creative Writing. I have always had a heart for encouraging and empowering women of all ages. As a woman, I want to be open and honest about my own experiences because it can help someone who may be struggling.
I didn't land on boudoir lightly. I discovered boudoir in 2007 and remember watching these beautiful and stunning women be free in their bodies. I told myself if I ever did get to learn photography, I wanted to be a boudoir photographer (and a wedding photographer but....I've learned that is not something I love at all.). 2017 I began my journey in studying, learning, observing, and being a woman who could offer boudoir. I wanted to give other women an incredible empowering experience. However, it didn't feel authentic and the fire didn't truly light until I had my own boudoir session. And that changed my outlook completely. I bring empathy, understanding, and knowledge to each session I have the honor of being a part of.
Ember & Ash encompasses what I feel about my own self love journey but also what I want other women to feel. That they can spark a great fire in their soul and that they can once more find life even if all they have is ashes. My approach to photography is to focus on capturing authentic moments and honest feelings. I love details, laughter, and telling a story.

The Process
THE CONSULT CALL
Interested in booking? Want more information? Trying to figure out if this is the right experience for you? Don't worry! This is why that initial consult call is so important. It gives you the opportunity to get to know me, ask any questions you may have, and share a little about why you are wanting this experience. You will be able to hear my voice and be given the chance to KNOW I am the PERFECT fit for your empowerment session! Boudoir is such an intimate and vulnerable experience it is my first priority that YOU are comfortable with ME. We will also go more in depth about the session you are envisioning, your investment, if you need products by a certain date, and any other needs/wants/desires you might have.
BOOKING YOUR SESSION
After your phone conversation, when you have said YES to your Ember & Ash Boudoir Experience, I will send you a contract and invoice via email. These are valid for 24 hours. Your date and time is not fully booked until the contract is signed and that invoice is paid. Once I receive both back, you are on my books and the countdown to your BIG DAY is ON!
LEADING UP TO YOUR SESSION
I want to reassure you that I have you every step of the way through this entire process. Leading up to your session I will send you a couple emails that will include an questionnaire, tips on what to do before your session, wardrobe advice, and other tidbits of info that will help your prepare for your session. And my inbox is always open for you to reach out with thoughts, questions, and ideas!
THE EXPERIENCE
Nerves are totally normal during this process so if you are feeling nervous - just know I'm here for YOU! I have you the entire step of the way. When you arrive at the studio you will be greeted by me and my professional hair and makeup artist who will pamper and glam you up! This takes a little over an hour so you have time to chat and start to relax. If there is anything you don't like about the finished product or something you want added, just let her know and she can get it just the way YOU want it!
After your hair and makeup is complete, we will finalize wardrobe options with either the outfits you brought, ones from my client closet, a mixture of both, or nothing at all. All of this is up to you! I will pose you from your head to your toe, coaching you down to the smallest detail such as breathing, eyes, and fingertips!
Nothing about your experience is left to chance. You are in fantastic hands so feel free to relax and enjoy your journey! Dancing, laughing, and everything in between is highly encouraged! My goal is for you to leave the studio with your head held a little higher, your soul a little lighter, and your spirit on fire!
After your session we will schedule a time for your "Reveal". This is where you will see your images after your session. You will pick your favorites and order products that showcase the stunning work of art YOU are! It can take up 3-5 weeks for products to come in and we can meet up at the studio OR I can drop them off to you. Your products are always wrapped and discreet.

No Digitals or additional Products are included in your Session Fee. A la Carte menu begins at $500 and Collections start at $1579. Average client invests $2900 on the session and product. All investment options are gone over in your consult call! Session fee is non-refundable, but date transferable within 30 Days. All sales are subject to Utah State Tax (7.25%)

I am so nervous!
It is a big step to put yourself in a vulnerable and honest place. But I am so proud of you for taking this step! When I say I will cheer you on, I mean it! When I say I want to be your hype lady, I am living for it! No matter how you feel I am here to encourage you and empower you every step of the way. You've got this! And you will walk out feeling like the Queen you are! I promise!
I'm worried I'm too ugly, fat, small, old, etc. for photos.
If you are reading this I want you to know that you are beautiful RIGHT NOW! You are NOT the exception. Boudoir is about showcasing the beautiful human you are right now! Boudoir is not a magic fix to make you suddenly love yourself, but a start or a part of your journey. It gives you physical evidence, a way to remind and reaffirm to yourself, that you are beautiful, stunning, glorious, and ravishingly beautiful human.
Will you make me look 100 pounds thinner, make my stomach flatter, take braces off my teeth, make my boobs bigger, etc.
I believe in loving yourself as you are right now. That said, I operate under the 2 week rule - if it's still going to be there in 2 weeks I do not touch it. I do not do heavy editing on your photos, only minor adjustments such as removing a scratch, a pimple, making your eyes a little brighter. I do not heavily alter your appearance because THIS experience is about loving YOURSELF as YOU are now. Scars are on a client by client basis. Some clients love their scars and want to showcase them, and some would like them removed. I'm okay with either of these please just let me know!

I want to gift a session as a surprise for my Wife, Girlfriend, Friend, Sister, Mom, Aunt, etc.
While this is such a thoughtful idea, I do not allow anyone to book a session for anyone else. Especially a SURPRISE session. If you want to pay for someone's session, that's fantastic and so thoughtful. However, I still need to talk to the client and make sure this is an experience THEY want. To me, this experience is very personal, intimate, and vulnerable that I don't want anyone to be surprised and not have the best outcome possible. There are many people who are not in a place for this type of experience and that is okay! But I do not want to make them have a bad experience because they feel obligated to follow through with something they didn't truly want or desire!
What if I want my images private?
YOUR IMAGES ARE FOR YOU! When you book your session and I send the contract, you are given the option if you want your images shared or not. You can change this decision at anytime. I always want to share every session I do because I love seeing women fall back in love with themselves and their body. HOWEVER, I know this is also a very personal and vulnerable place to be in. A lot are not comfortable showing the world themselves in this way. THAT IS FINE! Your nudes are safe with me! I only share what YOU allow me to share!
I have a jersey, blanket, ring, etc. I'd like to use.
Please bring whatever props you want. This session is for you! I'd love to incorporate anything special that you want!
