Library book sale provides more than just books photos and captions by alex gaines

From April 29 to May 2, The Westport Library offered an extensive book sale for readers, including books of all genres, as well as DVDs, CDs and art. The library provides book sale events several times a year, where anyone can stop by and browse the large selection of books and other media to purchase.

The Westport Library's Spring Book Sale took up a majority of the main floor of the library. The space, which is often used for other events at the library such as guest speakers, was filled up with shelves of thousands of books, CDs and DVDs.
The books were categorized into many different genres, including Teen/Young Adult, Mystery, Science-Fiction and languages including German and Dutch. Most books sold for about $2 each, but the price varied given the type of book.
CDs, DVDs, postcards, art and sheet music were also offered at the sale. The Westport Book Sales website notes that "this Book Sale offers something for virtually everyone."
A majority of the book sale's items - which also included postcards, magazines and match books - cost less than $3. However, the sale also contained some paintings, old books and artifacts that cost hundreds of dollars.
Other sections at the book sale included health, psychology, business and education. Students could volunteer to work at the book fair to help customers make their purchases. "It’s a really welcoming experience that allows us to support the library," book sale volunteer Lucas Baer '25 said. "We’re also able to form valuable relationships with the library staff, bookstore managers, customers, and other volunteers."
