Weekly Schedules

Student-athlete weekly schedules will be available by August 28 on the "Current Students" tab on our website. Our morning and afternoon bus schedules are available now on the Current Students tab. Weekly schedules will be organized by team and then grade. Please keep in mind that your schedule will change from time to time (for example: when we have an early dismissal for Parent Teacher Interviews). We will send an email when those changes happen so that you are in the loop ahead of time.

Bus transportation: our bus transportation service picks up student-athletes from Langley, Surrey, Richmond, Ladner, Burnaby and Coquitlam in the mornings and drops-off in the afternoons. Exact locations are noted in the bus schedule. Please arrive early for the bus as our bus drivers will leave on time. Our bus service also includes midday shuttles from Planet Ice Delta to North Delta Secondary School. Student-athletes can load the buses at the west side of Planet Ice Delta parking lot and at the northwest side of North Delta Secondary (near 114th Street and 83rd Avenue).

Classrooms at Planet Ice Delta: Math 9 to Math 12 will be taught in the Agnew Collaboration Classroom. French 8, Media Arts 8 and CLE 10 will be taught in the Focus Classroom. All other academic classes will be taught at North Delta Secondary School - the classroom location is noted in your NDSS timetable.

Questions about your scheduled activities at the rink? Contact us at info@deltawildhockeygroup.com.

Questions about your academic course schedule? Contact Christine Niemar by email cniemar@deltaschools.ca or in person in the teacher's office located next to the Focus Classroom at Planet Ice Delta. Please note Ms Niemar is on summer break until the start of the school year. If you have timetable questions over the summer, please contact the NDSS front office: northdelta.sec@deltaschools.ca.

GAME SCHEDULES

All league games and stats will be available on the Canadian Sports School Hockey League website. Your team's game schedule is also available on TeamSnap. If you do not already have access to your TeamSnap account, please contact your coach to get added. Coaches will communicate scheduling changes and updates with families via TeamSnap so it is important that you have access by the start of the school year.

MEDICAL COVERAGE AT THE RINK

Our sports medicine clinic provides priority availability to Delta Hockey Academy student-athletes. We offer physiotherapy, athletic therapy and mental performance services. If you do happen to get injured in practice or in the gym, you can walk into the clinic and our team will help you through it. We will have Athletic Therapists at all league games to help you through an injury in a game situation. If you have any questions about the clinic, the price of appointments, or if you still need to get your extended benefits set up in our system, visit us in person or email our clinic at info@deltahealthperformance.com. You can also book online using the link below.

CONCUSSION PROTOCOLS

Baseline Testing

All Delta Hockey Academy athletes will complete a baseline concussion test with one of our physiotherapists or athletic therapists in September. Our medical practitioners will keep your baseline results on file in case they require it for reference should you sustain a concussion in the season.

Concussion Testing

If you do get a concussion in a game or practice, you will need to report to the clinic for a concussion test with one of our medical practitioners. They will use your baseline testing information for reference. Once the practitioner determines the severity of your concussion, they will provide you with instructions and information on next steps before you can return to play. Our return-to-play guidelines will include details on the extent that you can participate in class, gym and on-ice activities - all of which will be specific to your particular concussion symptoms. Our practitioners will also communicate this information to your parents/guardians. ALL concussion services in our clinic are provided at no cost to our student-athletes.

Return to Play

You are required to obtain a doctor's note indicating that concussion symptoms have improved before you are allowed to return to game play - this rule is mandated by Hockey Canada. Our clinic practitioners will advise when you should plan to visit a doctor based on your specific symptoms and return-to-play timeline. If you are from out of town or are not able to get an appointment with your doctor, we can support you with setting up an appointment with a sports medicine doctor. The doctor's clearance note must be provided to your coach before you can participate in a game.

LOCKER ROOM

All student-athletes will have an assigned stall in our locker room at the rink. Coaches will review proper locker room etiquette and set-up on the first day at the rink. Student-athletes will store their equipment, backpacks and other belongings in their stall. Please remember to keep your stall clean and organized!
