Reception children will be performing on Tuesday 6th December at 9.15am. We have room for 2 people per child to come along. As this is just one year group we will not be providing tickets.

Children will be performing twice on Thursday 8th December (1.45pm & 6pm). As this is the whole of our Key Stage 1 we will be providing tickets through Eventbrite. Food Bank Donations

As in previous years, we will be collecting food for the Salvation Army Food Bank. If you are able too, we will be accepting donations at the school office until until Monday 5th December. All donations will be gratefully received.

Level 2 Football Tournament

After the successful commencement of our football clubs, we were delighted to be able to take three teams to Stanley Park for the annual level 2 football games, to compete against teams from other primary schools from Chippenham and the surrounding area. Most significantly, we were really proud to be able to field a team made up entirely of girls alongside a few other schools (who couldn't last year). Miss Murphy was incredibly proud of her team, who competed admirably against other boys' teams and did phenomenally against the girls' teams to win their group and earn a place in the L3 competition - to be played later in the year. Many coaches from other schools were blown away by the talent of some of our girls.

This year the weather was in our favour and all three teams played some great football, always in the right spirit, and with a smile. After many tough games and playing against some incredibly talented young boys, Monkton Park Boys 1s merely missed out on a spot in the quarter-finals. Mr. Williams and Miss Murphy are incredibly proud of all of the children that took part and represented the school. A huge congratulations to all involved!

After the competition, the children were lucky enough to meet the Forest Green manager, who shared his impressions of the children's skills and talents. They even got a photo!

Outdoor Day

This term we had our first Outdoor Day of the year, to coincide with National Outdoor classroom day which promotes getting children out of the classroom for their learning for the whole day.

The day saw a mixed range of weather with a rather soggy start, ending with a fantastic rainbow. Everyone had a great day and was involved in a mix of activities including campfire cooking, mud and clay modelling, natural art, outdoor maths, stick craft and what turned out to be the overwhelming favourite the barefoot safari!

Thank you to everyone who sent in items to help re-stock the bug hotel and for the sticks and wood for the fire. It was a great day and we look forward to our next outdoor day in the Spring term.

Body Percussion

We were delighted to welcome Alua, a visiting musician from the body percussion group STOMP last week. He worked with all KS2 classes on creating rhythmic patterns using just their body. We finished off the day with a short presentation to KS1 who were suitably impressed. It was great fun for all, and good to be reminded that music can be made in all sorts of surprising ways.

FOMPS

Thank you for all your Chocombola and tombola donations. We look forward to seeing you all at the Christmas Fair this Friday 2nd December from 5.30pm.

We are still looking for some volunteers to help the evening run smoothly. If you are able to help, please go to volunteersignup.org/H747T and show your support.

Your child(ren) should have brought home raffle tickets for our Christmas Fair Raffle this week. Please bring in your completed raffle tickets and the money, as well as any unsold tickets, to the school office by Friday 2nd December. Extra tickets will be on sale at the Christmas Fair.

If you have any homemade Christmas gifts and crafts that we can sell on our Gift stall, please bring your creations to the school office.

We would also welcome donations of cakes and biscuits for our cafe, to be delivered to School office on the 2nd December.

THANK YOU!
