Plunkett Post Term 2 Week 6 2023

PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE

We are now over halfway through the term! Our students have been busy in the classroom and participating in other events. We have 4 more weeks of the term left. Term 2 finishes on Friday 30 June.

School Climate Survey: We are in the process of evaluation and reviewing school operations and seek parent, staff and student feedback to help us plan for the next 4 years. We have partnered up with Schools Infrastructure to participate in a School Climate Survey where they gather feedback from all school stakeholders. Please read the information below from School Infrastructure.

School Infrastructure NSW (SINSW) is constantly reviewing the condition and student demands of schools throughout NSW to anticipate their needs, whether it is to grow, adjust to meet contemporary teaching practices, or to find opportunities to implement other improvement. School Climate surveys are being conducted to better understand how students, parents, and teachers experience Nowra Public School.

You can take part via this survey link, or via the QR code included below. This will give you access to NSI’s website where you will then need to select ‘Start Questionnaire’ from the menu options and then enter the following access code: NPSparent. Surveys are available to complete until Sunday 18 June 2023.

Your participation in these surveys is encouraged and valued. By participating in the School Climate surveys you will help us to better understand your perception of the strengths at your school and opportunities for improvement. Your involvement will provide valuable information that may guide and support the decision-making process for infrastructure improvements.

As part of the project, students in years 3-6 will be invited to complete a survey during school hours, at a dedicated session on Tuesday 13 June 2023. Participation is anonymous and voluntary; if you wish to withdraw your child from this program, please complete the withdrawal form found in the Surveys of students and parents on School Climate – Information form by Thursday 8 June 2023.

Separate surveys will be completed by school staff and parents/carers. If you have questions or do not have access to a device to complete the survey, a small team of staff from SINSW will be available to assist on Tuesday 13 June 2023.

Attached is a fact sheet that provides further detail regarding the project as well as frequently asked questions.

The team administering the surveys will be joining the P&C meeting next week at 7.00pm to provide further information and answer any questions you may have.

Regards,

Nicole Humphreys, Principal

Both the Nowra Boys and Girls basketball teams travelled to the Indoor Sports Stadium at Bomaderry on Wednesday the 24/5/23 to play the 2nd round of the PSSA state knockout against Illaroo Road Public school.

The boys played first and consistently played hard and came away with a solid victory 25 to 12 . The girls played next and were defeated 50 to 12 by Illaroo Road . All students played very well and proudly represented our School.

A big thank you to those parents who helped out by transporting the students to the venue.
