Social media
Social media can be great fun and a fantastic way to keep in touch and share things with friends and family but there are a few things you need to remember to keep yourself safe.
Using Social Media
- Only accept friend requests of people you know
- If you aren't sure or feel uncomfortable tell someone you trust and block them
- Password protect your account
- Be careful what you share online, don't reveal personal sensitive information like your home address, financial information or phone number
Your personal information is valuable to criminals
Sometimes we have to give out our personal information on the internet for example: Full name, address, bank details, phone number
We need to give companies this to be able to buy things online.
Before buying anything online make sure the web page starts with https://
This means the website is safe.
If you are unsure THINK FIRST ask someone before giving your details
