Lone Mountain Eagle Eye January 9, 2023

Lone Mountain Families,

Welcome to our new and returning families! I hope that everyone had a restful winter break. As we begin the new quarter, I wanted to remind all of our families to keep track of your child's grades online in the PowerSchool Parent Portal. If you need to access the portal please reach out to the LMES front office so we may assist you. If you have questions about what your child is learning and how they are doing in class, please reach out to the teachers directly. Each teacher has a website with their email and phone number on it and our school staff page is linked here- LMES STAFF. The teachers are the best source for events and learning within the classroom. We are truly looking forward to partnering with our families for student success this semester.

Please let me know if I may assist you or your family in any way. I wish you all a wonderful week.

Respectfully, Emily Hill

ARRIVAL AND DISMISSAL AT LMES

As we start the second half of the school year here are some tips to remember regarding arrival and dismissal at LMES. There are two primary ways for students to arrive and dismiss from campus. These two ways are car drive up and busses. For our families utilizing drive up here are some helpful tips for a smooth drop off and pick up experience.

  • Line up single file on Montgomery Road.
  • Do NOT enter the front driveway until 8:40 AM or 3:25 PM.
  • Our preschool and PALS students dismiss earlier than other classrooms and they are allowed to pull into the parking before 3:25. This allows our youngest students and our students requiring extra assistance time to safely get into their vehicles and exit campus.
  • At dismissal - show your car tag number to our staff member. Please have them visible in your car. These brightly colored cards were given to you at registration if you are joining LMES mid year.
  • Pull forward to a colored pylon. Stay in order. Wait for your child. We will unload and load 10 cars at a time.
  • If your child needs assistance buckling their car seat please pull forward and up past the red pylon so that you can assist your child and we can keep the car line moving.
  • Please do not pass other drivers unless directed to do so.
  • If your child is not ready at dismissal, we will ask you to park and we will bring them out when ready.

Please remember that you can not park in the cul-de-sac and drop off children or park your car on the side of Montgomery Road. With our LMES car lane, buses, YMCA, Tutor Time van, and vehicle traffic to the nearby neighborhoods all sharing Montgomery Road it not safe to be dropping off children or parking along the side of the road. Student safety is our number one concern. Thank you for your understanding and help with this.

"SOAR" EXPECTATIONS AT LONE MOUNTAIN

This year we continue with our positive behavior interventions and "SOAR" expectations for students to follow in the classroom and around campus. The acronym SOAR stands for Safety, Ownership for your actions/words, Attitude, and Respect. These are character traits that we talk about daily within the classrooms and around campus. When these specific traits are shown staff members can give each student a SOAR card that they label with their name and then drop into a raffle for a monthly prize drawing.
