Influenza effects humans but originates from animal reservoirs

Influenza may be transmitted by direct contact with infected individuals, by contact with contaminated objects, or by inhaling the virus through virus-laden aerosols

Typical incubation period is 24 hours when in direct contact with the virus. The infection period lasts about 1-4 days

The symptoms of influenza include, fever, chills, muscle aches, cough, congestion, runny nose, headaches, and fatigue

The most effective way of treating influenza would be to get s flu vaccination. The second most effective way would be to take antibiotics. And the third most effective way is to rest and stay home to keep others from getting sick.

You can prevent influenza by avoiding close contact with people who do have the virus, cover your mouth and nose, clean your hands often, avoid touching your eyes nose and mouth, and keep spaces around you clean

As of today 3,697 people have died from influenza. Death per every 100,000 is 1.2

Most people with flu can spread it to people up to six feet away from them

The most effective time to get a flu vaccination is in October

The flu can live up to 8 hours on unclean surfaces
