Il-ġibjun Navali f'Ħal Luqa, maħsub biex iforni d-Dockyard fil-Port, inbena fil-bidu tas-seklu 20 madwar l-1905 u l-1909. Il-ġibjun kien skavat fil-ġebla tal-franka b'pilastri tal-ġebel, usa' fil-bażi li jistrieħu fuq pedamenti tal-konkos.
The Naval reservoir in Ħal Luqa, intended to supply the Dockyard in the Harbour was constructed in the early 20th century in c.1905 and 1909. The reservoir was excavated in lower globigerina limestone with stone masonry pilasters, wider at the base resting on concrete foundations
Il-ġibjun Navali mhux biss huwa wieħed mill-ewwel strutturi tal-konkrit rinfurzat irreġistrati f’Malta, iżda jirrappreżenta l-isfruttament ta’ din it-teknoloġija importanti fuq skala kbira u impressjonanti.
This reservoir is not only one of the earliest recorded reinforced concrete structures in Malta, but represents the exploitation of this important technology on a large and impressive scale.
