Principal's Message
This had been a difficult week for everyone. The news of Queen Elizabeth passing away was a shock to use all. Last week we shared a whole school assembly and the children were respectful and thoughtful. On Friday 16th September we spent the morning thinking about and celebrating the life of the Queen. The children have contributed to a whole school display and have signed a commemorative book. This newsletter contains images and texts from the children. We will send another newsletter out early next week with our usual information.
God Rest The Queen
A poem by Roger McGough
She spoke volumes quietly.
Is everywhere and will remain so
Our shared interest, our common currency
The nation cannot let her go.
Stars untwinkle one by one
The moon, in shock, averts its gaze
No words express the grief we feel
How we loved thee, let us count the ways.
The future, fearful, has gone awol
Life goes on but not the one we know
Though wreaths and words may wither
The nation will not let her go.
Guns fall silent, the flag lowered
She who kept us close is gone
Winter is composing a sad anthem
It will play on and on and on.

Our children are members of a diverse community that is kind, responsible and respectful to all. Everyone is valued and celebrated. Everyone is encouraged to be ambitious and aspirational. Through our active collaboration between home and school, we develop resilient, confident and independent learners.
