The French Laundry
The restaurant occupies a gorgeous century-old stone cottage that’s surrounded by expansive gardens that inspire the nightly changing menu. Inside, you never know what to expect from Chef Thomas Keller, who never repeats an ingredient. Keller culminates a culinary journey through his nine course meal that entwines exquisite taste and artful presentation to provide you with an unforgettable experience.
Solbar
This longtime Calistoga mainstay offers a quintessential Napa Valley dining experience, especially with their posh poolside patio that’s open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. For dinner, start with their iconic Chips & Dip (caviar, potato chips, and, onion crème fraîche), Parker House rolls, and Santa Barbara sea urchin before moving on to more classic entrees, like New York strip and rib-eye, or maybe something a little more inventive, such as sake-marinated black cod. Lunch isn’t too shabby either, starring a wagyu burger and Maine lobster roll.
Bottega
It’s open for both lunch and dinner, and much of what you see on the menu—including the pasta, fresh cheeses, and cured olives and meats—is house-made. Adding to that “feels like we’re in Italy” ambience is the restaurant itself, housed on the Vintage Estates Property, formerly home to one of Napa’s oldest wineries, which opened in 1870. The restaurant has been carefully restored to showcase many of its original details, including gorgeous hardwood floors, beamed ceilings, and brick walls. Adding to the snug atmosphere is the covered outdoor terrace, which features two wood-burning stone fireplaces.
