Welcome!
First, a bit about me.
My name is Dominique Andrews. I hail from Carmel, Indiana and am currently pursuing an MS in Business from the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University, with a minor in Psychology, class of 2023.
Upon graduation, I hope to move to Washington, DC and find an organization that will enable me to apply all that I’ve learned in the university’s world-class business program while contributing to the betterment of mental health resource access.
IU founded the Idea Garden shortly before I started school there—and I'm so thankful! I have always been a technology enthusiast, and at the Idea Garden, I've been able to discover and learn how to use emerging technologies, which I think is critical to succeeding in business today. I also discovered the power of Adobe's creative tools in the lab, and I've used them consistently since then both in my coursework and extracurricular endeavors to help communicate my ideas in a more engaging and powerful way.
In my junior year, I took an International Business Relations course. Our final project tasked us to create a digital artifact that compares and contrasts business culture from three countries. I chose UK, Argentina, and Malaysia.
I created a series of mock newscast videos using Adobe Premier Rush. It was really fun to work with my classmates creating these videos—and I thought this approach would stand out for its creativity.
I then built a web page using Adobe Express (which I used to create this site, as well) to host all my final videos. This format let me share my work with my professor and classmates seamlessly, and the final product looked very polished and professional.
I became a Peer Health and Wellness Educator during my freshman year. Through this program, I have the opportunity to lead self-care promotion and outreach work with my peers. It gives me the chance to help others on campus stay mentally well. This has been a really meaningful experience for me.
This year, I worked with the program to bring awareness to Mental Health Day, and I had the opportunity to spearhead a communications campaign. I used Adobe Express to create a social media campaign. Then, I tapped into Illustrator and Adobe Dimension to build poster designs. We worked with campus facilities to get the posters converted into signage that hung at every bus stop on campus—this was a really proud moment.
I'm currently working on my Bachelor’s Dissertation, which studies the impact of the Internet on the social and spiritual values of students.
I've been using Adobe Acrobat to annotate my sources and get feedback from my advisors.
I've also been using XD mocks-up to share my ideas with peers. This has been a great tool for collecting input.
