Monkton Park Newsletter Friday 4th November 2022

Car park safety

Whilst we try to reduce the amount of staff cars coming in and out of school at peak times, please can we encourage those dropping off children in key stage 2 to use the pavement as much as possible. It is especially important for those dropping off outside our usual times e.g. for swimming, as more cars will be coming into school at these times.

For parents who use the carpark for breakfast and after school club please keep speeds as low as possible both along our driveway and in the carpark itself.

Flu Vaccinations

The immunisation team will be visiting Monkton Park School on: Wednesday 16th November 2022

Seasonal flu vaccination remains one of the most important public health interventions to protect individuals and prevent the spread of infection to those most at risk in society. This contributes to reduce morbidity, mortality and hospitalisation associated with flu at a time when the NHS and social care will be managing winter pressures, potentially including further outbreaks of COVID-19.

For this reason, it is essential we deliver the vaccine to as many children as possible.

Full information about this live vaccination, including frequently asked questions and access to the NHS England information, are available when accessing the link. We recommend you discuss this vaccination with your child prior to the date of vaccination.

To consent to, or to decline the flu vaccination for your child please click on the link below:

https://schoolimms.hcrgcaregroup.com/flu/2022/wilts

Please note that this link with close at midnight on: Sunday 6th November 2022

It is important that you respond prior to this date for your child to receive their flu immunisation at the school session as there will only be one visit to their school this season.

If you miss this deadline, your child(ren) will not be vaccinated at school, however you will have the opportunity to book them into a community catch up clinic. This also applies if your child is absent or refuses the vaccination at school.

After your child has been vaccinated (if consent provided) you will receive an automated email to confirm this and provide post-immunisation advice. Please check your junk/spam box on the day of vaccination if you do not receive this in your inbox.

If you have any difficulties with completing the consent form, please contact the Immunisation Team on our Single Point of Access (SPA).

FOMPS

The Christmas Fair will be held on Friday 2nd December, 5.30-7.30pm

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED! We have a strong FOMPS Team, but the Christmas Fair requires a little help from a lot of people to make it successful. We are currently looking for volunteers to organise stalls before the event. Please take a moment to look at the sign-up sheet to see if you are able to help in any way: volunteersignup.org/H747T

If you have an idea for a new Christmas Stall that is not listed, we’d love to hear from you too. Please e-mail fompspta@gmail.com

MORE HELPERS = MORE STALLS = MORE FESTIVE FUN FOR ALL!

We will be looking for volunteers to help during the evening. There will be a sign-up sheet for this in the coming weeks.

FOMPS would also really appreciate parents’ help with the following:

Grand Raffle Prizes – Do you know of, or work for, a company that may be willing to donate a raffle prize? We have been given some wonderful donations in the past and the raffle always brings much excitement. All donors will be acknowledged on the night.

Nearly New Cuddly Toys – Yes, we all have them hidden away somewhere! Here’s your chance to donate them to the Nearly New Cuddly Toy Stall. Obviously don’t send in your child’s forever friend, but those that you’ve thinned out and hidden away can be donated to this stall.

Cakes / Biscuits – The café would like donations of cakes and biscuits please, to be delivered to School office on the 2nd December.

Dates for your Diary:

Chocombola Week: 21-25th November

The ever-popular Chocombola will be running again! As in previous years, classes will be running a competition for the one to collect the most chocolate in a week. Please send in chocolate donations with your child(ren) during the week commencing 21st November. Chocolate will be raffled on the Chocombola stall at the fair.

Mufti Day: 25th November

We are running a Mufti (non-uniform) Day on Friday 25th November, when we ask you to bring in a Christmas-themed prize for the Christmas Tombola stall.
