The Choir Department hosted their annual Christmas show, "Noel" featuring Center Grove choirs and a variety of special acts.
Junior Sophia Watt acts as Elsa throughout the show. Early into Act One Watt sings "Let It Go" from Disney's "Frozen." "I started being Elsa my freshman year, so it has become sort of a tradition during the Christmas season," Watt said. "I love doing it alongside one of my best friends, Ashlyn Glover, who plays Anna. I was really fortunate to host the show this year."
Accents
JV show choir, Accents, sing "Jingle Bells." For many members this was their first Christmas Show being that they are freshmen. "Performing in my first ever Christmas Show was definitely something I will never forget," Alex Monroe '22 said. "The support that we had from friends, family and the varsity choirs was so amazing and I don't think we could've been more prepared."
Surround Sound
William Boas '22 and Michelle Poe '19 sing a duet in "Too Darn Hot." "After performing in the Christmas Show, I realized that I really want to be a part of choir for the next four years," Boas said. "I loved the energy on stage."
Special Acts
Senior Nick Parackattu sings "God Rest Ye Merry, Gentlemen" with Kelsey Mayse '19, Subi Pandit '19, and Eli Smith '20. Performers put in countless hours to perfect the show. "We stayed after school for a long time over the past week rehearsing and practiced the numbers countless times in class," Parackattu said. "It felt great to see the standing ovation at the end of each show."
CG Singers
CG Singers and Sound System combine to sing "O, Holy Night," a choir tradition, before intermission. "My favorite moment of the show was singing "O, Holy Night" during the last performance [Act I of the Christmas show] with all my friends in choir," Sound System member Ellie Jarosinski '19 said. "This song is powerful and emotional on its own, but senior year made it even more special."
DebTones
Debtones perform tap number, "We're in the Money." "This is my favorite number because I love tapping," Julia Boston '19 said. "Almost the entire number was a dance break, and it was challenging, but I loved every second of it because I knew it would most likely be my last tap number as a Deb."
Debtones join together and hold hands while singing "When We're Together." "It was a very powerful moment standing and singing next to seniors Phoebe Joubert and Sarah Hinton," Junior Lauren Cooley said. "They both have helped me throughout the years, and I’m going to miss them when they graduate at the end of this year. It was amazing to have such a touching and beautiful performance to keep as a memory!"
