Newsletter 25th March 2022

Headteacher Comment

The school was buzzing this afternoon as 140 parents and family members visited Greenfields Primary School and Nursery's Science Fair 2022. This is our first major parent event this year, and we are looking forward to more as we enter the Summer term after the Easter break.

As we move into next week, our classes across the school are busy: performing at the Corby Cube and Deco Theatre (Northampton), bouncing at 'Flip Out' in Rushden Lakes, visiting the DRET Farm at Nevill Holt and having their first residential adventure at Govilon near Abergavenny in Wales. All of our enrichment helps broaden our children's horizons, brings enjoyment and depth to their education, and builds brilliant memories of school. Without your support, and support from the Trust none of this would be possible so 'thank you' to everyone who helps trips and visits happen.

I will included in next week's Newsletter a reminder about Greenfields' summer uniform, which can be worn after Easter. Please use it to guide you if you are planning on buying uniform for the summer months.

Thank you for your continued support and enjoy the weekend ahead.

Wriggle Dance Sensory Workshop

Reception and Year One had a great time taking part in the Wriggle Dance sensory workshop this week. They explored their senses using slime, bubbles, feathers and lights. The teachers loved watching the performance.

Meerkats and Monkeys at the Zoo

Marvellous Meerkats and Cheeky Monkeys had an incredible time at Rutland Zoo to enrich their learning this term about 'Living things in their habitat'. What fun day year Three had, exploring such wonderful creatures. Ask the children and they'll tell you all about them!

Home School Agreement

As we become more used to our online way of working, we thought it was important to add to our home/school agreement (that you signed when your child started at Greenfields) to include online learning. Please follow the link below to complete this short addition relating to online learning with Greenfields Primary School and Nursery.

Class Code and Google Link

These have been updated for the classes in 2021-22, so click on the link for the class you will be in in September.

Teachers are looking forward to posting their ‘Flipping Greenfields’ videos every Friday next term in time for the weekend. Each one is all about next week’s learning, so will get your child prepared for a flying start on Monday. Research shows that children who feel prepared for the coming week are less anxious about school, happier to get up and go on a Monday morning and achieve better than those who are not.
