Freedom Summer Eric gomez nestor nava

Freedom Summer was a 1964 voter registration project in Mississippi.
The Freedom Summer was made to help the NAACP,SNCC,and CORE.
The main objective for Freedom Summer was to increase black voter registration in Mississippi.
They wanted to create freedom schools.
They would fight for their freedom and it cost them their lives.
Before the Freedom summer only 6.7% of Mississippi blacks were old enough to vote.
By 1969 66.5% were registered to vote.

There was a great hardship going through Freedom Summer but there was also success. Through it all they finally got what they wanted which was the right to vote.
