End of Term Highlights

Junior Prizegiving

JUNIOR PRIZEGIVING | This week, we celebrated the individual and collective achievements of our Primary Years Programme pupils at our annual Junior Prizegiving Ceremony in the School Hall. There were speeches, prizes and, of course, the famous St Leonards strawberry tarts. A round of applause for our youngest pupils – we look forward to welcoming you back to school in August! Final Farewells

FINAL FAREWELLS | As the Year 6 pupils entered their final week of the Primary Years Programme, they led a fantastic assembly for their peers and parents. The children performed a moving rendition of Far From the Home I Love and shared their reflections and favourite memories from their time at St Leonards thus far. The children then awarded certificates to each of the teachers in recognition of their support, and also received class awards - there were a wide range of talents and attributes acknowledged, everything from most likely to be an astronaut to the kindest teacher. We wish Year 6 all the best as they move up to the Middle Years Programme!

End of Year Concert

END OF YEAR CONCERT | On Tuesday night, the Music School Auditorium was filled with the melodious sounds of our young vocalists and instrumentalists, who treated family and friends to an evening of musical performances at the Junior End of Year Concert. Special mention to our Year 6 soloists who showed themselves to be accomplished musicians!

LAMDA Success

LAMDA SUCCESS | Congratulations to all those who received their LAMDA qualifications this week - it was a full complement of Merits and Distinctions for our Junior pupils! Certificates were awarded during assembly, and the pupils were given a hearty handshake from Mr Barrable and a round of applause by their peers.

Harvest Time

HARVEST TIME | The Year 1 pupils headed out to the playground to harvest their lettuce and radishes this week, before trying the vegetables with a little bit of Miss Barclay's secret dressing!

Reflections and Celebrations

REFLECTIONS AND CELEBRATIONS | The Year 3 pupils delivered a fantastic assembly for their parents which showcased and celebrated the class' learning from the past year. The assembly concluded with a recording of their rondo composition, which they had devised together in their Music lessons. Congratulations to all the pupils who showed themselves to be knowledgeable, reflective, balanced and risk-taking thinkers, inquirers and communicators!

Bye on the Bagpipes

BYE ON THE BAGPIPES | This week saw Mr Barrable lead his last assembly at St Leonards. He ended proceedings with a piped rendition of Amazing Grace, alongside George C. We wish Mr Barrable all the best as he embarks upon his new chapter beyond St Leonards.

In the spirit of farewells, Year 4 also said goodbye to Louise at the end of this week. The children wished her all the best, and very much hope to see her again!

We hope that Michelle C, Maryam ASofia C, Niamh W, Lucas B, Agnes P, Magnus D, Jamie B, Scott A, Monty W, Harriet B, Harry T, Felicity P, Patrick R, Isabella H, Holly A, Elin T, Isabella T, Paula T, Shreya B, Ray L, Theo K, Grace P, Robby P, Luna C-G and Gaspard C-T enjoy celebrating their birthdays over the summer holidays!
