The Baker Blast June 3, 2023

Above: Aryan Khedkar (2nd person from the left): Aryan and the final 10 spellers in the 2023 Scripps National Spelling Bee.

Congratulations Aryan!

2023 Scripps National Spelling Bee Finalist

Aryan Kedkar is a seventh grade student at Baker. He is a powerhouse in competitive spelling and was the final Michigan speller left in the Scripps national spelling bee. Aryan successfully won the Baker Spelling Bee, swept through the Oakland County Bee, dominated at the National Bee and made it all the way to the finals where he was one of the final five remaining spellers of the original 231 students competing from across the country.

While he didn't finish in first place, he inspired the entire ONETroy community, showcased an impressive competitive spirit and dazzled the judges with his skill on a national stage. As a 7th grade student, Aryan will have another chance to win it all during his 8th grade year. We look forward to his future success and can't wait to watch him compete!
