Festivities really started this week. It has been wonderful to see the children take part in the activities that have been happening this week. There was even snow! It has been a rather busy week as you will see.
School life
This week we were visited by Holly the reindeer, had Christmas Lunch, filmed the Nativity, had a Santa dash and celebrated Birthday's. As well as this, there has been some amazing work produced by the children, continuing to inspire and create wonderful pieces of writing, challenge themselves in maths and being creative in Art.
This week Reception have been retelling part of the story of Stick Man and the children have been continuing to explore part/whole models in maths. The children loved meeting Holly the reindeer and eating their Christmas dinner. Thank you for sending in dressing gowns for our part Christmas play.
Y2 have had an exciting week meeting Holly the Reindeer, filming the Christmas nativity and having Christmas dinner. Alongside all of this festive excitement, Y2 have also worked hard and have written fantastic sets of instructions about how to cross the road and have worked hard on their arithmetic skills in maths.
As part of the English unit in Year 6, the children have written some incredible persuasive speeches. Here are some examples of them performing their speech. A huge well done to all of them.
There have been lots of Christmas activities this week:
School social media accounts
Whilst we have our school Facebook account - we have a couple of new Twitter accounts. This lets us communicate and collaborate with people in a much easier way and allows the children to share their work with Authors and people of interest, giving them a further purpose and wider audience to share their thoughts and ideas. If you would like to see more, then the three main twitter accounts are @Galley_Hill , @GalleyH_english, @GalleyH_Maths

It has been another busy week. next week will see the link for the Nativity go live. The video will be on Vimeo and will be password protected. Please make sure you can access Vimeo (we use it for all videos on the newsletter, so if you can watch them you will be fine). Also, please do not share the password beyond family or distribute any of it on social media.
Also a BIG Thank you to Kerry Todd for filming the Nativity. I've seen a few snippets of the 'final cuts' and it is great. Thank you. Get ready for the release of the Nativity 4pm Thursday (you will be able to watch it any time from then at a convenient time.)
