Dr. Howard Fuller Collegiate Academy scholars, families, staff, and community are celebrating the Class of 2022 as they begin new chapters in their shared commitment to further their education beyond high school. This is the tenth consecutive year that 100% of our graduating class has been accepted into college, which is a remarkable achievement for the school community.

Members of the graduating Class of 2022 have been accepted into a total of 367 colleges and universities from and over $7 million in scholarship offers. That sets a new school record, breaking the previous high of $4.6 million in 2021. The Class of 2022 is the school's largest graduating class with 72 scholars — double the size of the graduating Class of 2016.

"When I heard the total of $7 million in scholarships, I was very excited. It made me feel like I was a part of a great senior class,” says Nasondra Johnson, who will be attending Marquette University. “I wasn't surprised because I knew we could do it.”

Potts will attend the University of Wisconsin - Madison. Both Potts and Johnson along with three other seniors have been accepted as All-In Milwaukee Scholars, a highly competitive, unique scholarship opportunity designed to support first generation college students.

“Today, we are not only witnessing future doctors, attorneys, engineers, or business executives walk across the stage. We are witnessing history making, barrier breaking, black attorneys, black engineers, and black business executives,” said Potts, at the school's commencement on June 6, 2022.

“I am overjoyed and inspired by the Class of 2022 and all of their accomplishments,” says Principal Judith Parker. “They had a particularly challenging set of circumstances to overcome the last few years, and the way they finished, from the joy on graduation day to the scholarship dollars earned, says it all about the class of 2022 and what’s possible for education in the City of Milwaukee.”
