Divergent boundaries happen when two tectonics plates move away from each other which bring magma from the Earth's Mantle to come to the surface of earth.
At divergent boundaries new crust is created as two or more plates pull away from each other. Oceans are born and grow wider where plates diverge or pull apart when a diverging boundary occurs on land a rift or separation will arise and over time that mass of land will break apart into distinct land masses and the surrounding water will fill the space between them.
The biggest volcanic eruption in human history occurred in 1815 on the Indonesian island of Sumbawa, leaving 100,000 dead. There was between six months and three years of steaming and small eruptions after the initial one. Because of the 400 million ton cloud of gas the volcano created, the earth began to cool and 1816 became known as "The Year Without Summer" because of the low temperatures, which killed crops and led to mass starvation.
THE END!!!!
