We finally reached the coast today and whilst we had a spectacular descent through the mountains, the coast was magical and a real highlight after 3 days of cycling inland across to the coast.
Of course, it would have been perfect if it wasn't for the rain! The worst of which came in the second half of our ride, but with some big 10% ascents and 800m of climbing (most covered off in just one long 10km climb) we didn’t get cold.
The reward for the rain and big climbs was arriving at our evening’s accommodation perched on top of cliffs with spectacular ocean views and the sunshine returning to show it all off. Topped off with the finest fresh seafood dinner! Jenny was a little disappointed in hearing it was seafood, but upon tasting the muscles, cuttlefish, squid, tuna pasta and sea-bream, she was a convert!
