"Honestly this week has been a dream come true for me."
Nick is fond of shaking things up, often wearing basketball jerseys during his practices while preparing for the tournament.
NOTABLE PERFORMANCES

DYLAN ALCOTT (AUS 🇦🇺) [1]

Dylan's highlight was retiring as a legend of the tennis world. He truly has changed the game of wheelchair tennis, bringing media attention, fan viewership, and an inspiration to all athletes, not just those with disabilities.

Dylan won the 2022 Australian of the Year Award during the tournament which was a massive achievement.

Dylan thanks the NikeCourt team for an incredible partnership over the years and his custom Melbourne collection.
Nike had a wildly successful activation in which Dylan’s t-shirts completely sold out online and in the Nike Emporium store in Melbourne. At the Australian Open, Nike was proud to announce the partnership with the Dylan Alcott Foundation which will enable the next generation of athletes by making a $50,000 grant to the foundation. The Grant is designed to support the career of an emerging athlete with a disability who Dylan will select and scout. The donation is part of Nike’s commitment to overcome barriers of entry to sport and education.

DENIS SHAPOVALOV (CAN 🇨🇦) [12]

Denis came out swinging in the 2022 season, winning Canada’s first ATP Cup title before the Australian Open. Denis continued his success in the first Grand Slam of the year, posting an upset over the No. 3 seed, before coming just short in a 5-set thriller in the quarterfinal against Nadal.

AMANDA ANISIMOVA (USA 🇺🇸) [41]

By the time Amanda was 16, she was being compared to Maria Sharapova because of her market maturity and powerhouse game style. However, Amanda prefers to downplay these comparisons, instead hoping to pave her own path to success. At the Australian Open she had successful wins over top seeded players, including Naomi Osaka and Belinda Bencic. Amanda is considered by some to be one of the next superstars for American athletes.

“I’m just so grateful that I was able to play this well today and to get the win,” an ecstatic Amanda said. “It means a lot."

TAYLOR FRITZ (USA 🇺🇸) [20]

The American made the second-week breakthrough in dramatic fashion on Saturday, in an epic 5-setter against the No. 4 seed.

Growing up, Taylor had plenty of reasons to be interested in tennis. Taylor’s parents were top ranked professional tennis players and he followed in their footsteps to become one of the rising American players on the ATP tour.

"Tennis is such a physically demanding sport, and it can be so rough on the body at the pro level,” Taylor told Men’s Journal. “You really have to do everything you can in the gym if you want to have a long career."

MADISON KEYS (USA 🇺🇸) [28]

Madison had a resurgence at the 2022 Australian Open, reaching the semifinal for the first time in four years at a Grand Slam. She's very vocal about prioritizing her mental health and having fun on the court. If she can be successful at enjoying the game, she is confident that the results will follow.

“My biggest mindset change is just trying to enjoy tennis, take some of that just internal pressure that I was putting on myself."

ARYNA SABALENKA (BLR 🇧🇾) [2]

Aryna was disappointed with her Australian Open results but aims to regroup for a quest for her first Gram Slam title in this season.
