Thank you Gerrity's Valley Farm Market who has generously donated funds that will allow every Lincoln Elementary School student to obtain a new book from their Book Fair this year and next year. In celebration, Lincoln students gave Gerrity's CEO Joyce Fasula, better known as "Mom" and her son, Joe, who assists with the daily operation and administration of the company, a tour of the school. Thank you to Lincoln PTO's Megan Angelo Parker for working to secure a new community partner for Lincoln.

CITY OF BETHLEHEM

********The Foundation for the Bethlehem Area School District*******

Formerly known as the Bethlehem Area Education Foundation (BAEF), The Foundation for the Bethlehem Area School District began in March of 1999, after a one-year feasibility study. The Foundation is governed by a Board of Trustees made up of members of the community working in concert with, but independent of the Bethlehem Area School District. To move the Foundation forward, the Board of Trustees amended the bylaws to include paid employees and hired a part-time Executive Director in the fall of 2014. Over the years, the foundation has worked closely with school district administrators to prepare programs and opportunities for funding that will support rigor, relevance and innovation in classrooms throughout the district.

This Fall, we received an Innovation and Service-Learning Grant through the Foundation for the BASD for Social Emotional Learning through Legos! In small groups, we are working on skills such as effective collaboration, active listening, self advocacy skills, navigating conflict, building healthy relationships, organization skills, controlling impulses, recognizing and navigating difficult emotions, coping strategies, and so many more! Here are our 5th and 3rd grade groups completing a 5 minute challenge: "build the tallest Lego tower you can as an effective team!" Thank you!!!
