What is an "A+" School?

The state of Florida has established a set of rigorous criteria in Reading, Language Arts, Science, Social Studies and Math to measure a school’s academic success. In addition, a school must demonstrate significant improvement and achievement for all groups of students. Trafalgar Middle School is proud to display our “A+” status for the past 16 years.

How Many Classes Do Trafalgar Middle School Students Take?

At TMS, 6th grade students take five core academic classes (Mathematics, Science, Language Arts, Social Studies and Reading) with the level being determined by the student’s readiness. Their schedule consists of a combination of Academic Courses and Exploratory Courses or Academic Enrichment.

What are the School Hours?

School hours for the 2022-2023 school year will be 9:45am - 4:00pm.

Does TMS Offer a Before School and After School Program?

A fee based Before School Program is available from 6:30am until school begins. TMS also offers a fee based After School Program until 6:00pm.

Is There Tutoring Available for Students?

Tutoring and a variety of after school enrichment programs are offered after school until 5:20pm.

How Do I Apply to Trafalgar Middle School?

On January 10, 2022 the Office of Student Enrollment will mail all fifth grade students who are currently enrolled in the Lee County School District a package with school choice information. Parents need to complete enrollment online or in person at the Office of Student Enrollment between January 17, 2022 - February 25, 2022. It is important to participate in this process, as Trafalgar Middle School is traditionally filled at this time with an extensive waiting list.

Student Open Enrollment lottery results will be accessible in mid-to late March 2022 ONLY for parents that applied online via web with the PIN code used to submit application. Student Open Enrollment letters will be sent out by USPS mail by April 1, 2022.

TMS Garden Fun Facts!

The TMS Garden has won the Florida Department of Agriculture’s “Best Use of Produce” Award the last 3 years and 4 out of the last 5 years.

The TMS Garden is the work of TMS students, staff, and community volunteers (both past and present).

Our numerous Gardens total over 30,000 square ft.

We have a Hydroponic Garden with 80 poles - 4 buckets per pole, and 4 plants per bucket (usually lettuce) for a total of over 1200 plants.

We have 2 Aeroponic Gardens with 28 plants each.

There is an Organic Row Garden with 26,000 sq. ft for growing vegetables (varies each year).

Our Garden also includes 2 container gardens, 2 Flower Gardens, and a Butterfly Garden.

TMS has donated over 32 tons of fruits and vegetables to our school and the Soup Kitchen (Community Cooperative).

The TMS Garden survives through donations, grants and fundraising.
