Newton's first law of motion says that an object will stay in place or will move in a straight path unless another object or a force encourages the object to change its path or motion .

For example in tennis the ball is the travelling in a straight line until the racket crashes into the ball encouraging the object to change its path and state of motion.

The second law of motion states explains how the velocity of an object changes when the force of an external object is introduced.

For example the ball would be travelling in a parabolic path and the person would be met with the waiting rack of the other player.

The third law of motion says for every action there is in nation there is an equal reaction for it.

When the tennis rack hits the tennis ball the rack bounces back at you while the ball travels to the other side of the court.
