2021 Wrapped Here's what happened in 2021

If you follow my blogs you know that I haven't shared much this year... and you know that I had a pretty traumatic body injury in 2020 that resulted in two reconstructive surgeries on my leg. The first surgery was in July of 2020 and the second surgery was in May 2021. I have not recovered from my surgeries as quickly or as completely as I had hoped. I have struggled with the very real possiblity that I have permanent nerve damage in my leg and a permanent mobility disability. I still do not have feeling in a large portion of my leg. It feels completely numb...like after having an epidural. I have trouble putting on pants, socks and shoes. I have learned to adjust to this weird tingling sensation from my hip to my toes. I have a recurring eczema like rash where the donor tissue was inserted and I keep wondering if my body is rejecting the tissue they used to repair my hamstring and ACL. I still have hope that I will fully recover and I keep pushing myself to do what my body keeps telling me it can't.

Despite the set back, I weas able to check off many of the items on my Vision Board this year. I bought a brand new car. It had 2 miles on it when I drove it off the lot however; it now has nearly 28,000 miles. New cars are for epic road trips! After my leg surgery, I was unable to drive for a few months. I couldn't lift my foot from the gas pedal to the break pedal and have severe leg fatigue driving long distances but road trips happened!

I did a lot of fishing! I am really going to miss sitting by a camp fire and fishing in Ohio this summer.

I got vaccinated & the booster. I experienced serious burnout from the Long Term Care Industry after COVID .... Me, Kris & Kaylee took a trip to Colorado to visit Rissa, Juan & the babies and ended up moving here. Maybe on a whim.... probably a bit of an impulsive decision.... definitely didn't get to plan things out the way I had hoped.... left a lot of unfinished business and family behind and it seriously keeps me up at night. I want so much for Kristofer and Kaylee to move back here! I miss them so much.

I started a new job.... so much has happened since we moved here. We saw 311, Iration and Iya Terra at Red Rocks, K-Bong at the Black Sheep. Reunited with the hiking group and had our first group hike in YEARS!

I'm hoping that 2022 brings healing, adventure and my whole family together! That is the only thing I want!
