North Carolina Founded 1653 Lydnsey Walford

In 1653 the colony was founded by Lord Proprietors. The name Carolina, from the Latin name Carlous, was given to the North Carolina colony in honor of Charles IX of France. North Carolina was later named after King Charles I and II of England.

North Carolina's geography consists of plains, plateau, and mountain ranges. The weather is the summer was often hot and humid, this made growing crops easy but disease a bigger problem. Winter were, however, not very difficult to survive.
