Yuri Syromolotov | Middle Georgia State University

The ITA Senior Player of the Year honors the senior student-athlete who had the best year among all student-athletes in his/her class.

In his senior season with the Middle Georgia State Knights, Yuri Syromolotov led his teammates to the quarterfinals of the NAIA national championship. Syromolotov was a steady force for the Knights at No. 1 singles. He went 10-1 on the season and finished ranked No. 6 in the nation. He recorded wins against the No. 2, 8, 11, & 18 ranked players in the nation. All together his senior season qualified him for ITA Singles All-American honors. In addition to his All-American status, Syromolotov was honored twice as the Southern States Conference Player of the Week.

Congratulations to Yuri Syromolotov on winning the prestigious ITA Senior Player of the Year Award for 2020-2021. This award is given to one senior each year for the best performance as a tennis player nationally.

Yuri had a spectacular season and career at Middle Georgia State University. He has won back-to-back SSAC Conference Player of the Year awards and been vital to the success our team has had. I will miss him on and off the court.
